What is Mentor AI Chat?
Mentor is an AI assistant that helps you quickly understand and analyze applicant, prospect, and student profiles. Instead of scrolling through multiple sections of a profile, you can simply ask Mentor questions and get instant answers based on all available information.
What Mentor Can Do
Mentor analyses everything in a profile to answer your questions, including:
Profile information and personal details
Submitted applications and forms
Activity history (emails, status updates, event RSVPs, form submissions)
Any documents uploaded to the profile
Example questions you can ask:
"What stands out about this applicant?"
"Is this student a good fit for our postgraduate programme?"
"What are this person's main strengths?"
"Tell me about their academic background"
"What recent activity has this applicant had?"

Tips for Best Results
What Works Well
Ask specific questions about the person's background or qualifications
Use natural language - ask questions as you would to a colleague
Be specific about what you want to know
Keep in Mind
Mentor can only answer questions about the current profile you're viewing
Questions must relate to information already stored in the system
If information isn't in the profile, Mentor will let you know it can't answer
What to Expect
When Mentor Can Help
Mentor works best when you want to:
Quickly understand a candidate's background
Assess fit for specific programmes or roles
Get summaries of complex application information
Review recent activity and engagement
When Mentor Can't Help
Mentor will tell you it can't answer when:
The information isn't available in the profile
You ask about external information not stored in your system
Questions are outside the scope of the current profile
Troubleshooting
If Mentor Gives an Unexpected Answer
Try rephrasing your question more specifically
Ask for clarification: "Can you explain that differently?"
Break complex questions into smaller, more focused ones
If You're Not Getting the Information You Need
Check that the information exists in the profile sections
Try asking about specific areas: "Tell me about their work experience" instead of very broad questions
Remember that Mentor can only access information that's been entered into the system
Privacy and Access
Your Conversations are Private
Only you can see your chat history with Mentor
Other users cannot view your questions or Mentor's responses
Each user has their own private conversation history for each profile
Access Permissions
Mentor access depends on your user permissions
If you can view a profile, you can typically use Mentor on that profile
Contact your administrator if you think you should have access but don't see the "Ask Mentor" button
Getting the Most from Mentor
Start with These Questions
"Give me an overview of this applicant"
"What makes this candidate unique?"
"What recent engagement have they had with us?"
Then Dig Deeper
"How does their experience relate to [specific programme]?"
"What questions or concerns might I have about this applicant?"
"What follow-up actions should I consider?"
