The short answer is: yes, if they're mass communications. And also yes if they're individual messages. But it gets a little nuanced. Go read the longer answer.
The longer answer is: our system is capable of sending all types of mass communications automatically at a designated time. Nevertheless, they can also be sent manually based on context and preference. Furthermore, the scheduling options vary slightly depending on the scenario.
These are the scenarios we currently support:
Automatic emails to be sent as a result of a specific interaction (for example, after someone registers for an event) can be configured to either be sent out immediately once the interaction takes place or be scheduled to be sent at a relative date in relation to when the interaction occurred (for example, X days/hours/minutes after the registration). We refer to such emails as "workflow emails," as they're configured using our automatic workflows tool. To learn more about the latter, please click here.
Event reminder emails are always scheduled to be sent out automatically at a relative date in relation to the event start time (for example, X days/hours/minutes/weeks before the event start date. They're configured in the Reminders tab of an event, which you can read about here.
Mass communications not tied to a specific interaction can either be sent manually by a staff user at his or her discretion or scheduled to be dispatched automatically at a designated date and time. We refer to them as "campaign emails" because they're created using our Campaigns module. To read about it, please click here.
One-to-one emails require a bit more elaboration, so we gave them their own section.
One-to-one emails…
Emails composed in the Emails tab of a profile cannot be scheduled for later dispatch because the nature of their content doesn't typically demand precise timing. However, even the Sahara Desert gets snow every few decades, so edge cases may conceivably come up. Let's say, for example, that you have an important email to send to an applicant named Judy, but it's midnight where she lives, and you want it to arrive at a more reasonable hour without waiting until your next shift because it only starts in 17 hours. How should you proceed?
For the rare occasion when, for whatever reason, you wish to be mindful of time for messages targeting a single individual, the solution is to create a campaign with that individual as the sole recipient. Yep, you read that right! Counterintuitive though it may seem, due to the Campaigns module being primarily designed for mass communications, it's also designed to be adaptable to situations such as Judy's.
Therefore, to target only one recipient in a campaign email, simply apply the following segment rule in the respective Audience tab:
Email - is equal to - this_is_judy@weloveemails.com
Then remember to actually schedule the campaign, of course! 🙃
