In order to allow applicants to select the courses for their programme on their application as below, you need to add the subjects tab to the application template.

Learn how to set up the subjects tab on the application template and its settings in this article.

Adding the "Subjects" tab to an application template

To add the subjects tab to an application template please make the following selection on the following field in the details tab of the application template.

Once you have made this selection, then the subjects tab appear.

How does the "Subjects" tab appear to candidates and what courses appear?

The Subjects tab appears on candidates application form when they select a class which has a study plan, in the primary product choice field on their application.

The courses that appear in the subjects tab are defined by the class study plan, or the student transcript, depending on the set up defined below.

Application template set up for initial/further course registration

You should set up your application template differently depending on whether the application template is for new applicants applying to their initial courses, or existing students applying to further courses.

Initial course registration for new applicants

To set up an application template for new applicants who need to choose their programme and their initial selection of courses please select the following setting in the application template details tab.

Further course registration for existing students

To set up an application template for existing students who need to register for further courses on their programme, then please select the other setting in the application template details tab.

Then select the relevant substates of existing students in the following input.

The subjects tab of the application will then be populated with the unregistered courses on the profile's transcript, and registered courses will be hidden.

Example of further course registration

For example imagine a student has the following transcript, where they have registered for a course in the first semester, and now they need to register for further courses for the next semester.

When they visit the application template with the set up described above then they will NOT see the registered courses, and will only see the unregistered courses on the transcript, as below.

Subjects tab options

Displaying course prices

If you choose to display course prices, then the price of the course defined in the course's settings will be taken and displayed in the application, including a subtotal of the courses selected by the candidate.

Displaying course credit requirements

Depending on the requirements of your programme you may or may not want to define course credit requirements on the application.

If your programme requires candidates to select all of the courses for their programme upfront, then you do not need to define credit requirements.

If your programme requires candidates to only select a batch of the courses of their programme in an application form, then define credit requirements.
