Where you should go to import based on the people that you are importing

Where you should go to import is determined by the type of people in your spreadsheet: candidates for a class or attendees of an event

Seeing as you're reading this, you're probably interested in doing an import and it's our pleasure to show you how, but first you should have a notion that there are several areas from where to start an import, each of which serves a different purpose. The journey makes the destination, so this will ultimately shape the actual process and the end result.

Where should I go to import the people in my spreadsheet?

In FULL FABRIC we have three locations that you can go to do an import:

  • A class overview

  • All profiles

  • An event

These locations are based on the type of people that are contained in your spreadsheet, so this should be your modus operandi:

Importing into a class overview (candidates for a specific class)

If your spreadsheet only contains candidates for a specific class that are in a specific lifecycle state, then you can import their data via the class overview. This will ensure that the candidates in your spreadsheet are added to the class whence you launched the importer and to the lifecycle state defined in the import. To do this:

     a) Click Programmes on the sidebar and select the right intake
     b) Click the arrow on the list search bar and choose Import from CSV

Importing into all profiles (candidates for no class or for multiple classes and multiple lifecycle states)

This is the go-to route if your spreadsheet contains candidates for whom you don't know their programme of interest, or if they are in multiple classes and multiple lifecycle states.

To import into all profiles:

     a) Click Programmes on the sidebar and then click VIEW ALL PROFILES at the bottom
     b) Click the arrow on the list search bar and choose Import from CSV

Importing into an event (event registrants and/or attendees)

Here's how to launch the importer from a specific event:

     a) Click Apps on the sidebar and then click Events
     b) Switch between the tabs Upcoming, In progress or Ended to locate the right event
     c) Enter the event through Event responses and statistics, and finally click the three-dotted icon on the right of the list search bar to choose Import participants
